PRODUCT OVERVIEW/REVIEW:
Casale dello Sparviero is a family-owned estate established by Olindo Andrighetti, a Venetian entrepreneur, in the early 1970s. A farm located in Campoperi, near Siena, it was surrounded by vineyards, olive trees, and forests. Sensing great potential for wine production, Olindo completely renovated the farm and turned it into a wine estate in 1972. In 1994 Ada Andrighetti, Olindo's daughter, took control of the company, acquired the neighboring Casale estate, and transformed it into a new operational and production center, officially giving life to Casale dello Sparviero. Ada's son Arrigo Barion currently manages the estate, which has 88 hectares of vineyards, alongside his mother and spearheaded the effort to become certified organic in 2019.

The estate was named after a sparviero, or sparrow hawk, as a symbol of strength and elegance. This is a fitting name for today's stunning wine, which deftly straddles the line between opulence and grace. Full-bodied and crafted from 100% Sangiovese, it abounds with layers of black cherries and blackberries entwined with notes of tobacco, underbrush, savory herbs, and black pepper. Tannins are firm, becoming more pliant with time in the glass.
