Casali del Barone wines are made by the Vallebeldo Cooperative, a group of grape farmers and winemakers dedicated to the production of top-notch and distinctly Piedmontese wines. Led by consulting enologist Daniele Ress, the coop has a portfolio of wines sourced from vineyards in the Langhe and Monferrato that beautifully expresses the region's viticultural gifts.
The 2019 Casali del Barone Barbera (150+1), a blend of 85% barbera and 15% nebbiolo, is medium-to-full-bodied, with brambly fruit aromas and a rich palate of cherries, raspberries, and blackberries layered with accents of dark chocolate and baking spices. Pliant tannins and moderate acidity bring structure without detracting from the wine's velvety smooth mouthfeel.
