The Chablis Vieilles Vignes is a wine produced from grapes that are picked from vines averaging 40 years. The yields are low making small concentrated and aromatic grapes, producing a wine of exceptional roundness on the palate. This wine has a longer aging potential which will delight those who appreciate older Chablis. It is rich, spicy, and herbal, with just a hint of oak, with plenty of texture and intensity. It shows the ripeness of the vintage but remains in balance.
"Vieilles Vignes" is French for old grapevines; old vines tend to produce less fruit, but the fruit characters are more concentrated, making for deeper, more intense wines.
