The Suisun Valley is a unique and diverse wine zone and farming community in Northern California's Solano County between San Francisco and Sacramento.
The Suisun Valley AVA is an American Viticultural Area in Solano County, California, located just east of the Napa Valley wine region in the Coast Range.

It is its own AVA within the North Coast AVA.

The original Fleur de Carneros featured varietal was Pinot Noir from the Carneros, however Fleur also makes some other fantastic wines that receive glowing accolades as in this Petite Sirah from the up-and-coming Suisun Valley appellation.

The lead winemaker at Fleur (which is part of the Carneros Wine Company wines) is Ken Foster who is the former winemaker and production manager at David Bruce Winery in California’s Santa Cruz Mountains, where Ken had been making wine for 15 years. Ken is active and full of energy in the cellar and he is enthusiastically involved in every step of the winemaking process from vineyard to bottle. Ken utilizes small open top fermentations, neutral oak barrels, sur lie aging, and his own hands-on approach in carefully crafting the Carneros Wine Company wines.

Fleur de California's Petite Sirah displays intense aromas of blueberries, peppercorn, and nutmeg. Dark in color, it explodes in flavors of blackberries, vanilla, spice, and a hint of black pepper. This is a nice quaffing wine that finishes smooth yet bright and is best served with barbecued pork ribs, teriyaki beef, marinated steak tips.
