PRODUCT OVERVIEW/REVIEW:
Louisa Sawyer-Lindquist and her husband Bob Lindquist make up the talented couple behind today’s feature. From their winery in Arroyo Grande, they craft wines under three labels: Lindquist Family Wines, Verdad Cellars, and Sawyer-Lindquist Wines. They source all of their fruit from sustainable vineyards in the Central Coast.
In addition to stellar origins and craftsmanship, today’s wine came from a fantastic vintage characterized by abundant sunshine and temperatures that were a bit cooler than normal. The fruit was ultra-ripe with plenty of balancing acidity. Barrel fermented and “sur-lie” aged in year-old French oak barrels for 14 months, the wine abounds with aromas and flavors of apples, pears, and lemon peel. The palate is lively yet creamy-textured, displaying accents of baking spices, wet stone, and vanilla. Bright acidity brings the wine to a lingering finish.
