The 2020 Domaines Comtesse de Malet Roquefort Bordeaux Rouge is classic, Right Bank-style Bordeaux. This medium-to-full-bodied beauty is a blend of 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc vinified and aged in stainless steel in order to keep the wine's ebullient fruit characters at center stage. Aromas of raspberries and blackberries laced with figs, cocoa, and anise lead to a palate with ripe flavors of cassis and blackberries layered with accents of leather, brambly earth, and baking spices. Pliant tannins and crisp acidity lend structure without detracting from the wine's silky mouthfeel.
