PRODUCT OVERVIEW:

Primitivo is the name given to a grape variety grown in the region of Puglia, Italy which has been identified as being genetically equivalent to Zinfandel. It has a fruit profile similar to that of its American cousin, and it benefits from the sun-drenched, brambly soil and ocean breezes that characterize the terroir of the "heel of the boot". Puglia Primitivo is robust yet light on its feet, with generous fruit characters and bright acidity.

Today's wine is medium-to-full-bodied and is bursting with aromas and flavors of black raspberries and blackberries. Undercurrents of bramble and sagebrush are woven into all that fruit. The mid-palate is velvety-smooth, and the finish is long with bright acidity. The wine is unoaked to showcase its ebullient fruit characters.
