PRODUCT OVERVIEW/REVIEW:
Cambria Estates is a family-owned winery located in the Santa Maria Bench in Santa Barbara County. The coastal vineyards here have the terroir that is ideal for the cultivation of cool climate varietals like Pinot Noir: morning fog and maritime breezes from the Pacific Ocean and soil comprised of fossilized seashells, shale, limestone and sand. These gifts of nature, combined with decades of rigorous vineyard management and winemaking practices, have made Cambria wines among the very best in the world. A Pinot Noir with the Cambria name is guaranteed to be a downright fabulous expression of this noble grape varietal.

Today's wine "is a dark purple color with red fruit characters of cranberry, cherry, pomegranate, and strawberry coupled with a bit of blueberry aromas and flavors. There is a touch of Asian spice and subtle earthy characters. Balanced tannins lead way to a lingering finish.” (winemaker notes)

90 points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Pale to medium ruby colored with a hint of purple, the 2014 Pinot Noir Bench Break has intense red currant and red cherry notes with hints of violets, Chinese five spice and dried herbs. Medium-bodied, fine and fresh in the mouth, it has a lot of varietal expression and sense of place for this price point without sacrificing flavor, which is a dorky way of saying, it rocks! 35,000 cases were made." (9/29/17)
