Teran is called refošk in Slovenia and refosco in Italy as well as being known as terrano del carso. It has been grown in Istria for centuries and in the 19th was planted in approximately 90% of all vineyards.
Teran is an indigenous Croatian red grape found on the peninsula of Istria with high acidity and pigment, which gives it a fine, dark ruby color with purple shades. The wine is made by the gentle pressing of grapes. Fine aromas of raspberry, citrus, and vanilla follow on the generous palate. It is an ideal aperitif on hot summer days.
