Coteaux du Giennois (formerly Côteaux de Gien) is the appellation title for red, white, and rosé wines from 14 parishes around Gien. This town lies between Orléans and Sancerre in the Loire Valley wine region of France.*
Located in the heart of the village of Sury-en-Vaux (5 km from Sancerre), Domaine Raimbault-Pineau was formed by a family of Sancerre winemakers that have been producing wine for over three centuries.*
In 1946, Lucien Raimbault acquired a well-known vineyard; its terroir was composed of chalky clay and enjoyed extraordinary sun exposure. The Raimbault family has continuously worked this land, and today the Domaine has 40 separate plots of AOC Sancerre vines, all located around the village of Sury-en-Vaux (La Montée de St. Romble, La Côte de la Pointe, La Côte de Sury). The Domaine also makes Pouilly-Fumé as well as Coteaux du Giennois. All of the vineyards are worked in the traditional manner, with great care and attention paid to the vines.*
Vinified in stainless steel, the 2022 Domaine Raimbault-Pineau Coteaux de Giennois Rosé is a blend of 80% pinot noir and 20% gamay that has aromas of red fruits and orange pith followed by a juicy palate of strawberries, pomegranates, and cherries laced with subtle hints of wet stone, herbs, baking spices, and bright acidity that carries it to a long finish.Producer Name: Domaine Raimbault- Pineau
