The Côteaux du Vendemôis is a modestly-priced rosé made by a collective of grape growers from the Loire Valley. Crafted from an obscure French varietal called Pineau d'Aunis, it flies under the radar for many wine lovers. We fell madly in love with it waaaaay back in 2009 and have been buying it ever since. Yearly production is modest, so we will not have this wine in-stock year-round. Once it sells out, we must wait for the next vintage.
The 2018 Lieu-dit Cocagne Côteaux du Vendômois is everything you want in a bottle of pink juice. Dry yet with a generous fruit profile, it offers aromas and flavors of strawberries, raspberries, pomegranates, and Honeydew melons. Subtle hints of spice and savory herbs round out the palate; lip-smacking acidity makes it the perfect Summer sipper and a great accompaniment to the lighter foods we enjoy in the warmer months.
