PRODUCT OVERVIEW/REVIEWS:
Rutherford's Beaulieu Vineyard, established in 1900, helped to transform Napa Valley into an internationally-renowned wine-lovers paradise. Its portfolio of wines has earned it more rave reviews from the press than we can count, as well as legions of ardent fans among wine lovers all over the world. To this day, Beaulieu Vineyard continues to produce world-class wines at every price point.
Today's wine is sourced from vineyards in Rutherford, Calistoga, and St. Helena appellations and is blended with small amounts of petite sirah and cabernet franc.
Aged for 18 months in French and American oak barrels, it has a bouquet of dark red berry fruit, supported by notes of briary cherry and tea leaf. The palate follows through nicely with juicy and bright strawberry preserves, black raspberry, black cherry, and cola, supported by delicate hints of mint, mocha, and dark chocolate. The tannins are smooth and round, offering a plush texture and mouthfeel, with a classic balance and structure that complements the character of this wine.*
Well-integrated baking spice notes of vanilla bean, cinnamon, and ginger from the toasted oak barrels seamlessly compliment the lively berry fruit aromas and flavors, leading to a long savory finish with focused acidity.* Check out the press!
Wine Spectator: Rated #1 Best Wine Value 2022 ~ 92 Points
"Fresh, direct, and focused, with red currant and cherry coulis notes that race through, dotted with savory, floral, and tobacco accents. Judicious toast lets the fruit play out, and there's solid energy throughout. Drink now through 2030." (10/31/22)
James Suckling: Rated 92 Points
"Redcurrant and tile with some clove. Dark stone, too. Medium-bodied with some fresh herbs and dried thyme. Medium, ripe tannins. Fresh, creamy finish. A blend of 93% cabernet sauvignon with petite sirah and cabernet franc. Drink or hold." (4/27/22)
