PRODUCT OVERVIEW/REVIEW:

2014 gave Kosuge the opportunity to make some of his best wines, thanks to a warmer vintage that yielded fleshy, ripe fruits. Today's wine epitomizes Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. This single-vineyard offering is crafted exclusively from the Barlow Holmstead Vineyard because its Pinot clones are exceptionally well-suited to the Sonoma Coast terroir, bringing forth vibrant wines that raise the already high bar that has been set for Sonoma Coast Pinots. While the "Habitat" is traditionally oak-aged, Kosuge made the decision to only use 20% new oak for this vintage so as not to detract from the wine's energetic fruit profile. The 2014 "Habitat" is rich and redolent of raspberries and red cherries, with a streak of earthiness and a whiff of savory herbs that lend complexity. Check out the press!

91 points, James Suckling:
"Lots of cherry and flower aromas here. Full body, fruity and soft tannins, and a delicious finish. Very fruity and soft-textured." (5/23/17)
