PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
The name Jed Steele is synonymous with fabulous California wines. From humble beginnings as a cellar rat for Stony Hill Winery in Napa Valley in 1968, Steele went on to become the head winemaker at Edmeades winery and Kendall-Jackson Estates. He launched the Steele and Shooting Star brands in 1992, created Stymie in 1999 with his son, and Writer’s Block in 2002. Today, Jed continues his vision by crushing 22 different varietals and producing 40 different wines, most in lots of under 1,000 cases.
He also serves as a consulting winemaker for properties all up and down the California Coast.

Today’s wine is sourced entirely from vineyards in Mendocino County. Full bodied and lushly textured yet elegant and exceptionally well-balanced, it has dominant aromas and flavors of lemon peel and wet stone. Accents of peaches and vanilla unfold on the mid-palate, while bright acidity and baking spices bring the wine to a long finish.
