PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
Bodega Sierra Norte was established in 1914 in Camporrobles, Utiel Requena, Valencia. It consists of 322 hectares of vineyards focused on the native Mediterranean varieties bobal and monastrell as well as tempranillo and macabeo. The estate practices and is certified for organic viticulture. Together with the Universidad de Valencia, Bodega Sierra Norte continues several research and development projects aimed at the study of organic and sustainable viticulture, the use of indigenous yeast, and clonal selection of the Bobal grape. Today's wine is a monovarietal sourced from 60-year-old vines grown in limestone-rich soils. Aged for 6 months in French oak barrels, it is medium-to-full-bodied, with aromas of violet-tinged black cherries and a palate redolent with flavors of strawberries, raspberries, and blackcurrants undercut by notes of toasty oak, baking spices, and licorice. It is infused with vibrant acidity that gives it a youthful kick and brings it to a long finish.
