Casa Santos Lima is a family-owned winery with 400 hectares of vineyards in Lisboa, Algarve, Alentejo, Vinho Verde, and the Douro known for well-priced wines of superior quality. It is the largest producer of “Vinho Regional Lisboa” and has been one of the most awarded Portuguese wineries in major national and international wine competitions.
Formerly called Estremadura, Lisboa is generating quite a bit of buzz among wine lovers in the know; in spite of its growing popularity, it remains a major source of wines that just slay the price-to-quality ratio. If you are looking to get serious bang for your buck, Lisboa is a wine destination that is worthy of your consideration!
The 2015 Casa Santos Lima Colossal Reserva Tinto Lisboa is off the chain! A blend of Touriga Nacional, Syrah, Tinta Roriz, and Alicante Bouschet, this full-bodied pleasure bomb is bursting at the seams with flavors of cassis and blueberries, with subtle undertones of sagebrush, vanilla, and black pepper. The finish is long, with balancing acidity.
90 points, #60, Top 100 Wines of 2017, Wine Spectator:
"Plum and boysenberry notes weave together with dried herb and smoky mineral accents in this sleek red. Savory spice details chime in on the finish. Offers moderate, grippy tannins. Drink now through 2020. 55,000 cases made."
