PRODUCT OVERVIEW/REVIEWS:
Delamotte was founded in Reims in 1760 by François Delamotte. At more than 250 years old, it is the fifth oldest house in Champagne. After Delamotte moved to a beautiful mansion at the end of the 18th century, François' brother Nicolas Louis Delamotte, also known as the Chevalier Delamotte Barrachin, assumed management. The House was sold to the Lanson family in the 1830s, who later started producing a label under their name. In 1988, the House of Delamotte joined forces with the enigmatic Champagne Salon under the umbrella of the parent company, Laurent-Perrier. Today, the House of Delamotte and its sister company Champagne Salon are under the direction of Champagne aficionado extraordinaire Didier Depond. (from importer notes).

The Delamotte NV Blanc de Blanc Brut is crafted from 100% Grand Cru Chardonnay and is vinified in stainless steel in order to preserve the purity of fruit and terroir-driven influences. It is a full yet mineral Champagne thanks to its chalky soil origins and sloping vineyards which give the grapes excellent sun exposure. Brioche, honey and green apple abound on the nose and palate, with hints of spice, nuttiness and that telltale chalky minerality threaded through the primary flavors.

93 points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The Delamotte's NV Blanc de Blancs...offers up a classy bouquet of crisp green apple, citrus oil, brioche, toasted nuts, and dried white flowers. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, fine-boned, and elegant, with a crisp but charming core of fruit, lively acids, and a
precise, saline finish." (3/08/19)

92 points, James Suckling:
"Always tangy, clean, and refined with a creamy texture and lightly cooked apple and pie-crust undertones. Medium body. Lovely texture and a long and flavorful finish." (2/9/19)

90 points, Wine Spectator:
“Flavors of ripe green apple, spring blossom, plum, and biscuit are set on a lightly chalky mousse in this balanced Champagne, while well-cut acidity firms the finish.” (11/30/19)
