Sisters Ruth and Ana De Andrés are two young Spanish wine lovers who, with degrees in chemistry and enology, channeled their passion for the fermented juice into winemaking careers. “Milenrama” is the Spanish word for the yarrow flower that grows all over Rioja right alongside the vines and beautifies its surroundings. It is a fitting name for a wine that is, quite frankly, stunning!
Crafted from 100% tempranillo from 40-year-old vines and aged in American and French oak barrels for 18 months, the "Milenrama" has aromas and flavors of blackberries, black raspberries, and black cherries; on the palate, these fruit characters are laced with supporting notes of baking spices, tobacco, mocha, and dried herbs. The palate is silky, with pliant tannins, and is infused with balancing acidity.
