PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
Domaine de la Citadelle was established in 1989 by Yves Rousset-Rouard and is based in the commune of Menerbes. Working with his son Alexis, who joined him in 1995, he has 39 hectares of vineyards planted to 14 grape varietals. Yves and Alexis take a non-interventionist approach to winemaking, ensuring that all of their cuvées are pure expressions of grape and terroir.

Vaucluse is an IGP title for red, white, and rosé still wines that are produced in the administrative department of the same name in southeastern France. The department lies in the heart of the southern Rhône Valley. IGP is the acronym for Indication Géographique Protégée. The IGP category focuses on geographical origin rather than style and tradition and gives winemakers greater stylistic freedom than the AOC designation.*

The 2016 Domaine de la Citadelle Cabernet Sauvignon is medium-to-full-bodied and redolent on the nose and palate with blackberry, cassis, and black raspberry. The palate is layered with notes of brambly earth and herbs. The tannins are pliant and the finish is long, begging you to take another sip.
