PRODUCT OVERVIEW/REVIEWS:
Francois-Xavier Borie, proprietor of the renowned 5th growth estate Château Grand-Puy Lacoste, is also the name behind Domaine de Saint-Guirons. Château Grand-Puy Lacoste is one of the greatest wines of Pauillac; Domaine de Saint-Guirons is crafted by the same winemaking team and comes from fruit grown on the Lacoste estate - all the pedigree without the classified growth price, people!
Today's wine is predominantly cabernet sauvignon blended with small amounts of merlot and cabernet franc. Aged in a combination of stainless steel and seasoned oak barrels from Château Grand-Puy Lacoste, it is "redolent with scents of blackberry, cassis, cedar, and fresh tobacco – the classic “cigar box scent” of Pauillac wines. The aromas follow through on the palate, offering plenty of concentration, flavor, and purity in a medium-bodied and elegant expression of this terroir." (importer notes)

92 points, Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"This wine is produced by the same team as Château Grand Puy-Lacoste, also in Pauillac. Richly structured, it's packed with black-currant flavors and tannins, which suggest great potential for the wine. Its density and dry core will take time to soften, but it will be worth waiting for 2023 to drink the wine." (5/1/19)
