PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Dan and Margaret Duckhorn established their winery back in 1976 with the goal of becoming one of the premier producers of wine in the Napa Valley. Acquisition of some of the best vineyards sites in both the Napa Valley and Howell Mountain AVAs very quickly proved to be a key element in their success. From their modest inaugural vintage, which only produced about 800 cases, they managed to captivate the attention of wine lovers the world over with their exquisite cabernets and merlots. To this day, their magnificent wines are widely praised by critics, sommeliers, and collectors.

The 2018 Duckhorn Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is a blend of 83% cabernet sauvignon, 16% merlot, 0.2% petit verdot, and 0.8% cabernet franc sourced from vineyard holdings throughout the Napa Valley. It showcases the viticultural glory of the region as well as the bold, expressive character of cabernet sauvignon.*

Aged for in 16 months in a combination of new and neutral French oak, today's offer shows an intense array of wild blackberry, boysenberry, blueberry jam, and dark chocolate aromas, as well as hints of wet slate, graham cracker, and cardamom. On the palate, classic notes of dusty Rutherford minerality and beautifully balanced French oak frame both red and dark berry flavors, with notes of graphite, cracked pepper, caramel, and black tea adding depth to a long, fruit-filled finish.*
