We are thrilled to announce that legendary Sonoma winemaker and pinot noir craftsman extraordinaire Byron Kosuge will be in our Needham store on Thursday, April 20th from 3-4:30 PM for an exclusive tasting and pre-sell event!
A Davis, California native and son of a farmer/biochemist, Byron has farming in his blood and was drawn to winemaking. He cut his teeth at Saintsbury Winery in Carneros; there he developed a passion for pinot noir that bordered on obsession; this led him to accept several consulting gigs at various Sonoma wineries.
He loved how this most difficult of varietals could, under the right conditions of terroir, transform into beautiful wine, and has spent years painstakingly tending the vines under his care to that end. He strives to bring Old World, non-interventionist sensibility to winemaking, adapting traditional methods to modern, New World conditions. His relentless pursuit of the highest expression of pinot noir led him to open his own pinot-centered winery, and the reward of creating something beautiful from challenging circumstances has drawn him to the unyielding and rough topography of the Sonoma Coast.
In addition to pinot noir, Byron makes gorgeous, terroir-driven chardonnays, gamay noirs, syrahs, and other wines made from varietals that thrive under these conditions. Check out the lineup for this very special event!
