Meet the Importer: Lauren Daddona AP Wine Imports in Braintree

Bordeaux wines are classic, complex, age-worthy, versatile, and so darned delicious! They should be part of every wine lover's collection, and AP Imports has one of the finest Bordeaux portfolios in the country. Lauren Daddona, Portfolio Specialist for AP Imports, will be joining us in BRAINTREE on Thursday, December 15th, from 4:30-6:30 PM for an encore presentation featuring a highly curated selection of wines from her stellar portfolio.

Based in New York with offices in Boston, AP Imports is dedicated to bringing in top-notch, terroir-driven, European wines to American consumers. With a focus on family-owned estates, AP Imports strives to support small wineries that are owned by people who have an intimate knowledge of their land and who respect the wine-making tradition of their region while utilizing the best that modern knowledge can contribute to the quality of the wines. To that end, sustainable, organic, and biodynamic practices are common among the estates they represent.*

The people who make up AP Imports believe that the wine trade serves the betterment of society through the exploration of different cultures. They are committed to helping their employees, suppliers, and consumers enjoy a more fruitful and enjoyable lifestyle through education and welcome the opportunity to support the cultures they represent through the winemakers and estates with whom they collaborate.*

Lauren Daddona holds her advanced certification with the Court of Master Sommeliers. She was the Wine Director at L’Espalier in Boston for five years, as well as the opening Wine Director for both Del Frisco's Double Eagle Back Bay in Boston and Les Sablons in Cambridge. Lauren’s wine career began with six years at Lower Falls Wine Company, a fine wine shop in Newton, MA.*

Prior to finding wine, Lauren studied Romance Languages and Art History at Bowdoin College, concentrations that led to her studies in France, as well as work at Christie’s auction house in New York. Her travels since have sent her to vineyards throughout Europe, South America, and the US, with additional time spent in New Zealand and Asia.*
Lauren was named Boston Magazine’s Best Sommelier in 2017 and is a Director Emeritus of the Boston Sommelier Society.  She was a national finalist in the TopSomm 2016 competition and voted a StarChefs Rising Star in 2015. She has been cited in a range of publications, including Wine Advocate, Forbes, SOMM Journal, and Food & Wine Magazine.*

We are particularly excited about the 2014 red Bordeaux because they illustrate one of the secrets of savvy shoppers. The 2015 vintage received many accolades and high ratings from the wine press. The 2014 vintage exists somewhat in its shadow, but the quality of this vintage is very similar. Without all the press, the 2014 wines do not command the high prices of Bordeaux from 2015. This is a WIN for those seeking the best for less.

Tasty, Bordeaux-friendly treats will be provided.

This is a COMPLIMENTARY event, but space is limited. Please reserve a time slot, but keep in mind the event has an "open-house" format.
