This, along with a budding interest in wine, led him to Tuscany, where he became an agronomist. He founded the estate bearing his name in the 1980s and started as a negociant, but over the years purchased enough land to craft wines exclusively from his own vineyards. In 1993 he began collaborating with the great Super Tuscan estate Ornellaia and realized that he could craft Super Tuscans on his own property that maintained a strong sense of place. The rest, as they say, is history!\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe 2023 Michele Satta Bolgheri Rosso is a blend of 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Sangiovese, 30% Merlot, and 10% Syrah aged for 12 months in a combination of cement tanks and seasoned oak barrels. It has aromas of plums, black cherries, violets, and herbs. The palate is medium to full-bodied and silky smooth, with flavors of black cherries and blackberries laced with notes of vanilla, cocoa, and brambly earth.
