PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
San Silvestro is located in Novello, in the heart of the Langa del Barolo. Here, Paolo and Guido Sartirano carry on the history of their family's estate which for four generations has been crafting wines with reverence for traditions and terroir and an open-mindedness regarding innovation. Each and every cuvée from San Silvestro embodies their winemaking philosophy and is a beautiful expression of varietal that reflects its origins.
The 2019 San Silvestro Barolo "Patres" comes from grapes grown in the Sartirano's vineyard holdings throughout the 11 villages in the Barolo production zone. Aged for 38 months in Slavonian oak casks, it is powerful yet elegant and very well-balanced, with aromas of red fruits and violets followed by flavors of brambly cherries and raspberries laced with notes of tobacco, leather, vanilla, and forest floor that unfold on your palate layer by layer. Tannins are firm yet pliant, and the finish is long, with balancing acidity.
