PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
Sean and Nicole Minor moved to California soon after graduating from college and quickly became enthralled with the wine industry. After working on the finance side at several wineries, including Beaulieu Vineyard, Sean started taking enology classes at UC Davis to better understand grape farming and wine production. The Minors moved to Oregon to manage King Estate and became friends with Will Bucklin, the winemaker, who helped them to delve deeper into the science of winemaking.

After moving back to California in 2001, the Minors honed their skills at Renwood Winery and Established Sean Minor (formerly known as Four Bears) in 2005. To this day, they source their grapes from the finest vineyards in AVAs all over California and remain committed to offering their customers top-notch wines.

Today's wine is sourced from Robert's Road Vineyard, part of the famous Sangiacomo Vineyard site, located at the base of Sonoma Mountain at the far northern edge of the Petaluma Gap. A wind gap named after a coastal mountain opening that stretches east from the Pacific through the town of Petaluma through San Pablo Bay, the Petaluma Gap brings forth exquisite wines made from cool climate grapes like pinot noir. Its array of soil types, which include sand, gravel, loam, and volcanic soils, contribute to the complexity of its finished wines.

Aged for 10 months in a 50/50 combination of new and seasoned oak barrels, today's offer has a deep ruby garnet hue. Aromas of fresh blueberries, cranberry, dark cherry, violets, and forest floor framed by vanilla elevate the nose. On the palate, the same dark fruit characters provide a perfectly balanced mouth feel that carries through to the rich and lingering finish that is tinged with delicate spice and vanilla nuances.
