Founder Marc Taub grew up with a deep appreciation for wine that was nurtured by his father and grandfather, who both had careers in the wine industry. He felt destined to follow in their footsteps, and his 2013 purchase of Heritance Vintners in Napa was the realization of his dream to continue the family legacy.

Taub Family Vineyards crafts wine with elegance and balance, reflecting the purity of expression from their microsites. They exclusively focus on mid-valley sites in Rutherford, Oakville, Mount Veeder, and Howell Mountain, with limited-release single vineyard, single AVA, and classic Napa Valley wines.

Marc pays homage to the winery’s history with his Napa range. “Heritance” stems from a combination of “heritage” and “inheritance” signifying a continuation of an enduring tradition and the start of a new one. This commitment to past and present is illustrated with the valley oak featured on each label with the diamond seed planted at its base. The 2018 "Heritance" is crafted from 100% cabernet sauvignon grown on the benches and foothill vineyards in the Rutherford AVA. (The soils here are well-drained and consist of gravel, sand, and loam.) Aged for 20 months in a combination of 75% new and 25% seasoned French oak, it has "intense and brooding aromas of black currant, plum, cedar, dust, and roasted coffee. A complex midpalate and weighty mouthfeel exudes black fruits, vanilla, and evolved spice notes. Balanced and refined tannins lead to a lingering finish. (winery tasting notes)
