PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
Established in 1969, Wakefield Wines is proudly owned by the Taylor family, who operate their winery with stewardship for the earth and reverence for terroir as top priorities. Their adherence to these principles has garnered them thousands of awards over the years, including a "Five Red Star Winery" rating by Australia’s foremost wine show judge and wine critic, James Halliday. This coveted rating is only awarded to an “outstanding winery capable of producing wines of the highest caliber.”*

Today's wine is a monovarietal aged for 12 months in a combination of new and seasoned oak barrels. It has aromas of blackcurrant, cedar, and dark chocolate. The palate is lush and velvety smooth, with distinctive blackberry and cassis flavors layered with cedar, cigar box, and spice. The tannins are well-structured yet pliant, bringing the wine to a long and satisfying finish.
