PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
*Gonzales Byass Sherry “Noe” is one of the world’s oldest and rarest dessert wines, a venerable Sherry. Noe (pronounced No-Ey) Sherry is part of the Gonzalez Byass “Very Rare Solera” range and is made purely from Pedro Ximenez grapes picked and then dried on grass mats to dry in the sun in the traditional “soleo” manner.
Noé is aged in American oak casks for over 30 years following the traditional system of criaderas and solera.
This rare wine has been named for the biblical Noah (Noé in Spanish) who lived to be 950, just slightly junior to Methuselah.
The wine is described as having a very deep mahogany color, almost opaque, with aromas of roasted figs, prunes, Christmas spices, tobacco leaf, then flavors of chocolate, cardamom, cloves, espresso, coffee bean, caramel, and mince pie, the wine finishes with remarkable balance at 430 grams of sugar per liter.

VORS= The Consejo Regulador only certifies sherries of the highest quality which have been aged for an extraordinary long time as In the case of those sherries over 30 years old, then the acronym used is V.O.R.S., which stands for "Vinum Optimum Rare Signatum" (Wine Selected as Optimal and Exceptional), and which may again be conveniently expressed in English as "Very Old Rare Sherry".

**Gonzalez Byass is one of the greatest, historical names in Sherry (and Brandy), as well as the largest Sherry firm in Jerez. Their Tio Pepe Fino brand and image are one of the icons of Spain. Moreover, it’s one of the few large Sherry companies still family-owned and managed and they offer fascinating tours and tastings to the public, in which thousands of visitors from all over the world (they mention 250,000 per year) learn the secrets of Sherry wine. Gonzales-Byass was founded in Jerez in 1835 by 23-year-old entrepreneur Manuel Maria Gonzalez, who exported the first cask of Tio Pepe to London in 1844.
