When actor Fess Parker purchased the 714-acre Foxen Canyon Ranch in 1988, he planned to run cattle, plant a few acres of vineyards, and perhaps, someday, establish a small winery. His dream was to start a family business that he could pass on to future generations.* Little did he know his venture would turn into one of the most iconic estates in California's Central Coast.
Aged for 10 months in a combination of new (33%) and seasoned French oak barrels, the 2022 Fess Parker Bien Nacido Vineyard Pinot Noir has aromas of red fruits, black tea, mandarin rind, potpourri, and brambly earth. The palate is medium-bodied, with flavors of cherries, strawberries, and cranberries, with complex layers of baking spices, clove, cola, and toasted oak. Polished and silky, it has a long finish tinged with cherries and spice.
