THIS WINE WILL BE READY FOR PICKUP ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 1ST, AFTER NOON.
Biancara was founded in 1988 by Angiolino Maule and his wife Rosamaria. After 12 years of working as pizza makers, they dedicated themselves to their lifelong passion: viticulture. In the early 1980s, they purchased land in the hilly area of Sorio di Gambellara, just east of the Soave production zone, and built their house and winery.*
The Maule family has 18 hectares of vineyards in the volcanic hills of Gambellara, where the Garganega varietal has been cultivated for over 1,000 years. Dedicated to the production of pure, terroir-driven wines, they farm their land organically so as not to interfere with the gifts nature gave them. Determined to keep their endeavor a family affair, they now operate the winery with their sons Alessandro and Tommaso.
A blend of 90% Garganega and 10% Trebbiano aged in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts followed by malolactic fermentation, the 2023 La Biancara Angiolino Maule Veneto Bianco "Masieri" has aromas of white flowers, citrus fruits, and herbs followed by a medium-bodied palate resplendent with flavors of Meyer lemons, Anjou pears, and kiwis, with subtle notes of almonds and wet stone. The finish is long, with bright acidity that brings balance and freshness.
