Gary Farrell understood this truth long before Pinot Noir became so popular on this side of The Pond, and today's offer reflects his unwavering dedication to this ethereally wonderful varietal.

Gary Farrell founded the winery bearing his name in 1982. Not concerned with trends or marketing, he was laser focused on the building blocks of terroir: day-to night temperature variations, fog, sun exposure, and soil composition were the driving forces behind his winemaking style. To that end, he favored single vineyard wines long before they were stylish in the RRV. Since the beginning, his wines have been timeless expressions of the interplay between place and varietal. He sold the winery in 2005 but has left an indelible imprint on the new generation. The current owners embody his winemaking philosophy; to this day, Gary Farrell cuvées are loved by legions of wine lovers all over the world.

Nestled in the Green Valley sub-appellation, Hallberg Vineyard is a beautiful, 100% dry-farmed site that enjoys refreshing daytime breezes and cool nighttime temperatures. The strong marine influence produces fruit with great structure, silky tannins, darker fruit flavors, and earthy characteristics. 2023 was a very long, cool growing season; the extended hang time provided gorgeous fruit with stunning flavors, structure, and complexity.*

Aged for 15 months in a combination of new (42%) and seasoned French oak barrels, the 2023 Gary Farrell Hallberg Vineyard Pinot Noir has aromas of raspberries and red currants with subtle notes of eucalyptus, bay leaves, and delicate hints of white tea. On the palate, vibrant red berries take center stage, supported by a gentle, savory undertone and a fine, dusty grip that adds texture and poise. This is a more approachable side of Hallberg while staying true to its hallmark balance and complexity.*
