Barolos rank among our customers' favorite wines (ours, too!), and when we get our hands on one with high praise from the press, we jump at the chance to get it for you! If you are one of our Barolo devotees, you will love today's fabulous pre-arrival offer!

Borgogno has a history dating back to 1761 when it was established by Bartolomeo Borgogno, but it was Cesare Borgogno, who took over in 1920, who put it on the international wine stage by exporting his wines abroad. The winery enjoyed impressive success over the years, through the tenure of Giacomo Borgogno, who renamed it “Giacomo Borgogno & Figli” in 1967, and that of his granddaughter Ida and great-grandsons Cesare and Giorgio.*

The Farinetti family acquired the winery in 2008. Firmly committed to traditional, terroir-led winemaking techniques, they went back to using concrete as the exclusive material for fermentation tanks and converted to organic farming. These developments have paid off; Giacomo Borgogno & Figli wines have received numerous accolades from the wine press and have a diverse following of dedicated wine lovers from all over the world.*

The 2020 Giacomo Borgogno & Figli Barolo is sourced from five of the most prestigious
vineyards of the Barolo area: Cannubi, Cannubi San Lorenzo, Fossati, Liste, and San Pietro delle Viole. Aged for 48 months in Slavonian oak casks, it is ruby red in color with garnet highlights and has aromas of fresh red cherries, red plums, rose petals, licorice, tar, and tobacco that follow on the palate. Medium-to full-bodied and vibrant, it has grip, balance, and muscle that keep it focused and give it powerful aging potential.*

97 points, Jeb Dunnuck:
"A deeper ruby/red color, the 2020 Barolo comes from the same vineyards as the No Name as well as Annunziata and offers more depth and ripeness, with aromas of black raspberries, candied cherries, preserved flowers, sweet herbs, and mossy earth. It has outstanding ripeness and purity and is long on the palate, with all its components coming together, delivering warmth, structure, and freshness. This is a pretty serious wine, one of the best blended wines I’ve tasted in this vintage, and it’s going to be hard to beat."

Order the 2020 Giacomo Borgogno & Figli Barolo between now and Wednesday, February 4th, at 4 PM. Orders will be ready for pickup on
Friday, February 6th, after 4 PM.
