PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
Le Salare was established in 1950 and is owned and managed by the Barba family. Current caretaker and farmer Giovanni Barba works closely alongside winemaker Stefano Chioccioli, overseeing every aspect of the winemaking process from bud break to bottling, and it shows in his fabulous wines. (Chioccioli is a consulting winemaker for many well-known estates, including Ruffino and Livia Felluga.)
The Le Salare Trebbiano d'Abruzzo "Colle Morino" was fermented in stainless steel and aged on the lees for 60 days. It is full-bodied, complex, and beautifully balanced, with aromas and flavors of ripe spiced pears. On the palate, those luscious pear characters are layered with notes of quince, almonds, and wet stone, with balancing acidity bringing the wine to a long and satisfying finish.
