Azienda Agricola Fontaleoni was established in 1959, when farmer Giovanni Troiani left the Marches to try his luck in Tuscany. The discovery of the gently rolling hills around the pretty medieval village of San Gimignano convinced him to buy a small farm. Over the years, the estate progressed from subsistence farming to wine production. In the early 1980s, second generation caretaker Franco Troiani took the estate to the next level by honoring tradition, embracing innovation, and farming organically. Today, the third generation has carried on the family legacy and continues to produce top notch wines worthy of the world stage.*
The 2024 Fontaleoni Vernaccia di San Gimignano is vibrant and crisp, with aromas and flavors of green apples, peaches and pears. On the palate, the ripe fruit characters are entwined with notes of savory herbs, wet stone, and a subtle hint of almonds that is the calling card of authentic Vernaccia.
