For almost 100 years, Juan Gil Family Estates has been crafting some of Spain's greatest value-priced wines. Based in Jumilla, Juan Gil has successfully tapped into the viticultural bounty of Spain's "sleeper" regions, crafting wines high in quality and low in price. From Jumilla to Almansa, from Calatayud to Castilla Y Léon and beyond, Juan Gil makes killer wines that are true expressions of their varietals and origins.
The 2023 Juan Gil Silver Label Monastrell offers explosive aromas of blackberries, plums, and cassis, with accents of cocoa, balsamic, and herbs. The palate is juicy, rich, and silky, with flavors of blackcurrants, cherries, and plums laced with subtle hints of baking spices. The wine finishes long, with balancing acidity and lingering black fruit flavors.

93 points, Wine Advocate:
"The 2023 Silver Label is a ripe and balanced Monastrell with integrated oak. It matured in new and second-use French oak barrels for one year, but they were looking for lower toast and less impact of the wood in this wine versus earlier vintages, when it was 100% new oak. It has a fruit-driven nose with some spicy notes, a medium- to full-bodied palate with a tender mouthfeel."
