Introduction:
The 2022 Tablas Creek Esprit de Tablas Blanc is the estate’s flagship white Rhône-style blend, showcasing richness, floral complexity, and mineral-driven finesse. A benchmark white that harmonizes opulence with tension.

Terrior:
Grown in the Adelaida District of Paso Robles on limestone-rich, well-drained soils. The region’s high elevation and wide diurnal shifts preserve freshness and build layered aromatic complexity.

Appearance:
Pale straw-gold with luminous clarity and slight viscosity.

Nose:
Expressive aromas of jasmine, beeswax, honeycomb, ripe apricot, and lanolin, underscored by citrus blossom and warm spice.

Palate:
Medium-bodied, with a layered texture and bright acidity. Roussanne leads with spice and weight, while grenache blanc and picpoul add orchard fruit, pineapple brightness, and saline minerality. Creamy yet balanced, it’s both opulent and fresh.

Finish:
Long and harmonious—stone fruit and spice taper into a chalky, mineral-tinged conclusion with lingering citrus zest and floral lift.

Overall Impression:
A beautifully structured white Rhône blend—textured, vibrant, and age-worthy. Pairs well with shellfish, white meats, or creamy pastas. It will evolve gracefully over the next 15+ years.

Press:
95 points, James Suckling:
"A rich and generous nose of honeydew melon, orange blossoms, seaweed, and lemons. The palate is medium- to full-bodied, with bright acidity and complex notes of peaches, nectarines, beeswax, and lanolin. Very complex and tightly bound structure that will unfold for years to come. Drink or hold."

94 points, Decanter:
"The apex of white wines from Tablas Creek is the Esprit Blanc de Tablas, a Rhône blend with roussane leading the way; grenache blanc, picpoul blanc, clairette blanche, picardan, and bourboulenc all make an appearance—a wine of great aromatic complexity, with beeswax, yellow flower pollen, almond skin, and nutmeg. The palate balances the weighty elements of these white Rhône varieties with remarkable brightness and saline minerality, creating textural perfection. Flavors of honeyed peach, spiced baked apple, and wild mountain herbs linger long on the concentrated palate."
