PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
Saint-Bris is located around the town of Saint-Bris-le-Vineux, southwest of Chablis. With a cooler climate and soil similar to much of the Loire Valley, it is no wonder that this geographically small appellation brings forth crisp and terroir-driven sauvignon blancs.

Jean-Marc Brocard came from a winemaking family, but he didn't develop his own passion for the craft until he married his wife, Claudine, the daughter of vigneron Emile Petit of Burgundy's Yonne Valley. Emile, along with Jean-Marc's relative “P’tit” Louis from Chablis were the mentors who helped him hone his craft. Today, along with his son, Julien, Jean-Marc farms over 120 hectares in Chablis as well as a few in Saint-Bris.

Today's wine is crafted from 100% sauvignon blanc sourced from 60-year-old vines grown in Portlandian soil rich in limestone. Fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks and aged in wooden vats for over 12 months, it has a nose of lemon peel and orange blossoms laced with hints of pears and wet stone. The palate is fairly rich and round, with dominant flavors of lemon and lime zest flanked by notes of green apples and stony minerality, with a touch of baking spice appearing on the long finish.
