PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
The Zuccardi family, founders of the Santa Julia Winery, have become an Argentinian winemaking dynasty. They have based their enormous success on the production of the highest quality wines made in harmony with the environment and with reverence for the rich terroir of Mendoza.
Winemaker Rubén Ruffo and vineyard manager Edgardo Cónsoli have carried on the family tradition; they know not to interfere with the gifts that nature has bestowed on the vineyards and take a non-interventionist approach to their craft, farming organically and creating wines that are decadent reflections of this sun-drenched land.
The 2023 Santa Julia+ Malbec is a mono-varietal sourced from vineyards in Maipu, Santa Rosa, and the Uco Valley. Aged for 4 months in French oak barrels, it is ripe, fruit-forward, and medium-to-full-bodied, with cassis aromas and flavors of brambly blackberries and black cherries laced with hints of stony minerality and black pepper. The palate is infused with lively acidity that gives the the wine lift and brings it to a long finish.
