22 Pirates was created by Jason Robideaux, Director of Winemaking, and Bill and Brenda Murphy of legendary Central Coast estate Clos LaChance. It is a distinct representation of the harmony and balance that can be created when using all or some of the 22 varietals native to the Rhône. Each vintage’s unique blend offers a bold structure of powerful fruit accompanied by an elegant palate appeal from the use of only the finest French oak. Small batch fermentations coupled with extended oak aging give rise to a complex and dynamic wine that stands alone or can be paired with an exquisite meal.*

The grapes for 22 Pirates are sourced from sustainably farmed vineyards yielding the highest quality for the wine and the environment.* The 2021 vintage is a blend of 62% syrah, 24% petite sirah, 10% carignan, and 4% grenache. Full-bodied yet infused with bright acidity that gives it energy and lift, it has aromas of black cherries cassis, and black raspberries that follow on the palate. The rich fruit flavors are laced with accents of vanilla, toffee, cedar, and caramel, with a dash of sweet baking spices on the long finish.
