PRODUCT OVERVIEW/REVIEW:
Pine Ridge's chenin blanc grapes are sourced from Clarksburg, referred to as the “Gem of the Delta.” It is an appellation that shows a great affinity for this Loire Valley native. The climate has a moderately long growing season and benefits from the maritime influence of the Sacramento River. The viognier is sourced from Lodi, which has a classic Mediterranean climate, with warm days and cool nights. Natural air-conditioning is provided by the San Joaquin/Sacramento River Delta breezes and produces grapes with natural acidity. Rhône varieties like viognier adapt well to this exciting appellation.*
This 80% chenin blanc/20% viognier blend belies its ridiculously low price tag. Medium-bodied, it offers aromas and flavors of lemon zest and spiced pears. On the palate, hints of nectarine, peach, and honeysuckle add depth and dimension; bright acidity infuses the wine with energetic lift and brings it to a long finish.

91 points, James Suckling:
"Attractive aromas of mangoes, papayas, baked apples and custard. Deliciously tropical and fleshy, with a medium to full body and a juicy, fruity finish." (6/4/23)
