The Mâconnais has a centuries-old winemaking history but has only recently begun to come into its own as a source of high-quality wines, despite a terroir similar to that of its northern neighbor. Saint-Véran is the southernmost appellation in the Mâconnais; it actually overlaps the northern edge of Beaujolais. Its relatively warmer temperatures bring forth full-bodied chardonnays with ripe fruit characters that take on honeyed, nutty aromas and flavors with some bottle age.  

Established in 1928, Les Vignerons des Terres Secrètes is a winegrower cooperative located in the Mâconnais and includes the appellations of Saint-Véran, Pouilly-Fuissé, and Viré Clessé. Its growers have a deep connection to the land and the relationship between the grapes and their various terroirs. Their lands have been identified, selected, and delineated into specific, sometimes tiny, plots, each with a distinct character. Their sensational cuvées embody their meticulous attention to detail and are authentic expressions of these unique sites.*

The 2022 Les Vignerons des Terres Secrètes Les Trois Pécheurs Saint-Véran has aromas of orchard fruits and apricots with subtle hints of white flowers and honeysuckle. The palate is rich and lushly-textured, with flavors of Golden delicious apples, pears, nectarines, and lemon zest layered with accents of wet stone and a hint of salinity. Well-integrated acidity balances out the ripe fruit characters; hints of lemon, honey, and crushed seashells linger on the finish.
