Cantina del Pino is a family-owned winery with a history dating back to 1920 and founded by Domizio Cavazza. Known as “The Father of Barbaresco” he had a winemaking philosophy rooted in a deep appreciation for the land. His dedication to excellence was carried into the 21st century by his great-grandson Renato and his wife Franca, who were passionate advocates for traditional, sustainable farming and non-interventionist winemaking practices. Renato sadly passed away in 2020, but his wife has carried the torch and continues to produce pure, expressive wines with a distinct sense of place.
The 2024 Cantina del Pino Dolcetto d'Alba has aromas of fresh red and blue fruits and violets, followed by a medium- to full-bodied palate resplendent with flavors of blueberries, raspberries, and cherries laced with accents of violets, wet stone, and a whiff of black pepper. Bright acidity and a subtle note of almonds bring the wine to a long and juicy finish.
