PRODUCT OVERVIEW/REVIEW:
Le Ragnaie is an agriturismo located just outside the town of Montalcino. 23 hectares in three different microzones of Montalcino are planted exclusively to sangiovese, all farmed organically. Each vineyard site is planted with grass cover to prevent erosion and create an environment that is hospitable to many animals and insects, thus creating a healthy and diverse ecosystem that helps the vines to thrive.

Today's wine is a monovarietal sourced entirely from the Le Ragnaie Vineyard, which is situated 2000 feet above sea level, with excellent sun exposure and soil composed of sandstone and quartz. Vinified in concrete vats and aged for 12 months in Slavonian oak, it is medium-bodied, with fresh, high-toned flavors of black raspberries, black cherries, and cranberries. Accents of savory herbs and wet stone add depth and dimension, while vibrant acidity lends balance and brings the wine to a long, pepper-tinged finish.
