Tempos is a collaborative labor of love between the legendary Bodegas Vega Sicilia and Compagnie Vinicole Baron Edmond de Rothschild (yes, of THAT Rothschild family). The estate has 100 hectares of vineyards and a state of the art winery, where innovation and tradition converge.
Macán Clásico is crafted from 100% Tempranillo from plots with limestone and sandy-clay soils. The 2020 vintage was abundant, balanced and fluid, producing ultra ripe grapes with balancing acidity.
Stainless steel fermented and aged for one year in a combination of new and seasoned French and American oak as well as stainless steel, the 2020 Tempos Vega Sicilia Macán Clásico has aromas of black cherries, Damson plums, and pomegranates layered with hints of cocoa powder, Mission figs, rose petals, and subtle, savory notes. The palate is medium-bodied, with a silky, voluminous texture and flavors of blackberries and pomegranates that drift into a long, focused finish laced with delicate notes of orange blossom and dark chocolate.
