Introduction:
The 2023 Annesanti “Fonte Farro” Bianco is a striking and expressive single-varietal Grechetto from Umbria. It combines textured richness with vibrant fruit energy and a distinctive mineral edge.

Terroir:
Grown in the Valnerina hills of Umbria (~250 m elevation), with clay-silty soils and riverside slopes near Arrone. These cooler, well-drained sites offer clarity and freshness while supporting full ripeness.

Appearance:
Deep pale straw gold with subtle viscosity—rich and inviting in the glass.

Nose:
Floral and savory—notes of jasmine, pear, honeydew melon, crushed almond, and preserved lemon. There’s a slight briny-mineral lift and herbal spice framing the bouquet.

Palate:
Medium-bodied, with a creamy yet zesty texture. Flavors of baked pear, almond skin, preserved citrus, and savory herb unfold over a chalky mineral core. Partial skin contact lends texture and a touch of tannin. Bright acidity balances ripeness beautifully.

Finish:
Long and fresh—citrus zest, almond, and saline-mineral notes linger on a structured, mouthwatering finish.

Overall Impression:
A captivating expression of Grechetto—textured, fragrant, and terroir-driven. Excellent with mushrooms, roasted vegetables, aged pecorino, or shellfish with herb sauces. Best enjoyed 2024 through 2028.
