Pé Tinto is made by the Esporão group. This collective of wineries, established in 2008, is dedicated to the sustainable production of wines showcasing Portuguese varietals. They hit a home run with the Pé Tinto. Made in the south-central region of Alentejo from native varietals moreto, castelão, and trincadeira, this lushly-textured offering will appeal to just about any red wine lover.
The 2021 Herdade de Esporão Pé Tinto is a medium-to-full-bodied, silky-smooth pleasure bomb that is redolent with crushed black raspberries and blackberries. Accents of wet stone, herbs, and a hint of white pepper appear on the mid-palate, while soft tannins and bright, juicy acidity make it simultaneously a decadent aperitif AND a great food wine.
