The Ridolfi winery was established in 2011 but its roots run deep in Montalcino soil. The estate once belonged to the noble Ridolfi family of Florence, land-rich and wine-savvy since the old-school days of Tuscany. Today, winemaker Gianni Maccari, legend-in-the-making, is at the helm. He built a modern winery from the ground up and ushered in organic vineyard practices.*

The estate spans 35 hectares, with 21 under vine, including thirteen and a half hectares of Brunello-destined Sangiovese. The oldest vines date to 2001, thriving in classic Montalcino soils: a spicy mix of clay, limestone, and sand that screams aging potential. Aged for 24 months in Tonnelerie Baron barrique and 18 months in bottle, the 2018 Ridolfi "Donna Rebecca" Brunello di Montalcino has aromas of black cherries, plums, rose petals and dried herbs. Ripe black cherries and plums follow on the medium- to full-bodied palate, with accents of vanilla, balsamic, anise, and tobacco. Pliant tannins and lively acidity lend structure and support the wine's silky texture; the finish is long, savory, and mineral-driven.
