The Pestoury family has been making wine for 5 generations in Côtes de Bordeaux, located in Bordeaux's Right Bank. Starting with only 3 hectares of land planted to various fruit trees as well as vines, the family has focused more on viticulture over the years, acquiring more land exclusively devoted to vines. Today, the family has 38 hectares of vineyards and is in the process of converting to organic farming.
Today's wine is a blend of 70% merlot, 20% cabernet franc, and 10% Malbec. Medium-to-full-bodied, it has aromas of cassis and pencil shavings followed by a silky-smooth palate of black cherries and red currants, with accents of blackberries, brambly earth, and the merest hint of savory herbs. The finish is long and lifted by balancing acidity.
ABV: 13.5%
