PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
Isabel Estate was established in the early 1980s by former airline pilot Mike Tiller and his wife Robyn. In his piloting days, Mike would fly over the land in the Wairu Valley that would someday become theirs, and it was Mike’s mother who encouraged them to purchase the land and realize their dream of starting a winery. Isabel Estate is named after her.

The Wairu Valley’s coastal sea breezes, abundant sunshine, protective mountain ranges, and well-drained soils all contribute to an ideal environment for the cultivation of vines that bring forth ultra-ripe grapes.

Today’s wine has an alluring nose that displays notes of grapefruit and citrus with hints of lemongrass and passionfruit. The palate is concentrated and layered with bright citrus and tropical fruits giving way to a creamy mid-palate and mineral
finish. (winery notes)

92 points, Decanter Magazine:
"Crushed fresh peas sit playfully with citrus, hints of nettles, and a gunpowder matchstick uplift. Well-balanced. Impressive sense of presence, particularly in this vintage." (3/31/22)
